Huey Lewis Update

The show last night was incredible, outside… a little chilly… the view from the stage included a thousand or so happy faces, and a spectacular vista of Squaw Valley.  The show started with Heart of Rock and Roll and ended with Workin for a Living (as the tail of a four song encore.)  The 100 minute set included all the Huey greats and some super traditional stuff like Shake, Rattle and Roll.  Everyone was in great form despite the cool air and once the band got really hot (after a couple of numbers) the entire crowd spent a lot of time on their feet, clapping and weaving to the music.

The four song encore featured Chuck Hansen from Hip Service on Baritone Sax.  Hip Service, a hot California jazz funk band with a four piece horn section, four vocalists, and two dancers along with guitar, bass, keys and drums, played on a separate stage both before and after Huey…. well into the chilly night.

Quack you later.
